William T. McLaughlin II
Mr. McLaughlin has over 40 years of experience serving and protecting the rights of individuals and businesses in civil litigation. He became a board certified civil trial attorney in 2001 and has successfully tried over 50 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts. His extensive courtroom success has earned him selection as a California Super Lawyer for 19 consecutive years (2006-present), an honor reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in the state, along with an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating for both legal ability and ethical standards.
Mr. McLaughlin's experience includes teaching Insurance Law as an Adjunct Professor at San Joaquin College of Law and representing consumers who have been victimized by their insurance companies. For many years, he was a sought-after speaker at Mandatory Continuing Legal Education seminars, covering topics including insurance law, real estate, elder abuse law, and litigation strategies. His broad civil litigation practice spans business and commercial disputes, insurance bad faith, personal injury, elder abuse, real property matters, and consumer protection cases. He has represented large institutional clients, including Fortune 500 companies, as well as individuals seeking justice against major corporations.
His professional leadership includes serving as Past-President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) San Joaquin Chapter, membership as an Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and selection as a Charter Fellow Member of the Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary society representing less than 0.5% of American lawyers.
Mr. McLaughlin received his Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law in 1984, where he published scholarly work in the Hastings International Comparative Law Journal. He was admitted to the California State Bar on December 3, 1984 (Bar Number 116348) and maintains an active license with no disciplinary actions throughout his extensive career.
